Item Description
Pair of paper advertising signs for "Flavor-ized Flare-Top Cones" featuring comic characters. Both ©1947 Famous Artists Syndicate. First is 9.25x14.25" paper sign that includes large image of cone w/chocolate ice cream and Don Winslow and Red Pennington holding cones. Also features sailors in a naval exercise firing at target off in the distance. Choice color and art. Upper left corner has some creasing, but sign still displays VF. Second is 11.75x16-3/8" sign for "Eat-It-All" brand of Flare Top Cones that features large cone w/strawberry ice cream. Shown are "Gasoline Alley" characters including Skeezix and Uncle Walt, "Harold Teen" characters Pop Jenks and Shadow. Upper margin has 1" tear and scattered margin/corner tip wear w/some corner creases. Unused price circle at lower left. Fine overall. Both signs are scarce.
