Item Description
Original mailing envelope w/"Herbert Lloyd - Publicity Expert And 'Resulter'" return address label contains 19-3/8x24-5/8" heavy artboard w/large 23.25" long cut-out of Nash Motors Company two-door sedan and cut-outs of "Nash" logo, "Nash For 1935" image and two "Nash '400'" car advertisements. Rest of sign is entirely hand-painted and reads "Only One Car Equals A Nash - And That's 'Another Nash'" as well as "New Nash '400' - The Nashional Nash." This model was introduced in 1935 by the Nash Motors Company, an American automobile manufacturer based in Kenosha, WI. from 1916 to 1937. From 1937 to 1954, Nash Motors was the automotive division of the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation. Nash production continued from 1954 to 1957 after the creation of American Motors Corporation. Sign shows moderate wear w/corner tip rounding/creasing and some pieces missing w/rippling/creasing to cut-out car. Surface paint has some creasing. VG overall but would make for nice display if matted and framed. This sign was created by Lloyd as an official proposal as noted by stamped text on from of envelope that reads "Stamps Sent For Return - Herb, Lloyd Warwick, N.Y. - Just A Rough Suggestion. If Interested Finished & Detailed Drawing Will Be Sent" w/stamped address to "Nash Motors." Envelope shows wear w/edge tears and corners off and just comes along. Vintage Nash signage is rare and this piece is unique.
