Item Description
17x23" linen-mounted paper sign for New York tobacco manufacturer/distributor Thos. H. Hall. Sign dates to the 1890s. Sign features gown-wearing woman playing mandolin and advertises "Between The Acts - The Pioneer Of All-Tobacco Cigarettes." Sign also mentions "Ours, Bravo" and "Half Dime" cigarettes. Sign has had some scattered restoration, w/paint touch-ups to woman's outfit. Some rippled lines at her knees and sign has 8.5" long diagonal line across bottom of dress. As linen-mounted, sign displays VF w/bold color. All pre-1900 cigarette advertising is rare, especially paper.
