Item Description
Group begins with 1-1/8" tall silvered brass stickpin showing arm with clenched fist flanked by the slogan. Slogan was coined (They Shall Not Pass) by Dolores Gomez, the famous Spanish Republican leader during the Battle of Madrid. Next is 1" tall enamel on brass pin with hanger reading "1939/Friend Abraham Lincoln Brigade" and suspended bell showing soldier with text "For Liberty In Spain." The following five are all .75" celluloid buttons. Buttons one and four have no back papers while the three have back paper by Popper, NYC. First of these repeats the slogan "No Pasaran." Three others include the initials "S.H.C." standing for Spanish Humane Committee. Tiny bit of silver luster off the fist on the first item but others are NM displaying Mint.
