Seven people were killed including three policemen, three suspects, a bystander and 15 others were wounded. The events involved Fred Evans and his radical militant group suspected of purchasing illegal weapons. Evans was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death in the electric chair but his sentence was eventually commuted to life and he died in prison in 1978.
