Item Description
Pinehurst No. 2, the centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort, remains one of the world's most celebrated golf courses. It was designed by the renowned course designer Donald Ross and it opened in 1907, the date on this button. Ross called the course "The Fairest Test Of Championship Golf I Have Ever Designed." This 1.25" button has back paper by Columbus, Ohio firm M.C. Lilley. Button has some very faint tone mixed in with the cream background and a couple of virtual pinpoint dots on the extreme edge but it retains its full gloss. The button is not only the earliest golf related button we have seen but arguably the most historic. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
