Item Description
Lot of items pertaining to "Webelos Woody" cartoon by Tom Eaton that appeared in "Boy's Life" magazine, an official Boy Scouts of America publication. Offered here are Eaton's original preliminary "Rough" art (in black felt tip pen on 9-5/8x13.5" sheet) and final pen and ink art (w/some preliminary blue penciling) on 11.5x17" thin artboard for April, 1996 issue. Final cartoon is six panels and features Jake quizzing Woody about recycling, w/moral of story about the benefits of recycling. Last panel shows UFO dumping trash, much to Woody and Jake's shock/annoyance. Final art has original paper overlay and is Exc., as is preliminary art. Comes w/color guide w/hand-colored watercoloring for finished art which also has paper overlay. Scattered moisture from watercolors, but remains bright and bold. Displays Exc. Last item is typed letter w/"How An Original Comic Page Is Produced" title. Letter details process Eaton goes through to create "Webelos Woody" cartoons. Letter and all three other items have been signed by Eaton in black felt tip pen.
