Item Description
Pair of 9.5x12" sheets of animation paper attached together w/two brass fasteners at left. Sheets contain original lead pencil storyboard concept art for an unused sequence in the 1931 Mickey Mouse animated short "Mickey Cuts Up" in which Minnie Mouse uses a sprinkling can. First sheet has three 3x4.25" blocked-out panels w/handwritten pencil text. First panel shows "Boy Bug" wooing" Girl Bug" w/text noting "Boy Bug Is Making Love To Girl Bug And Not Getting Any Place With It." Second panel shows raindrops beginning to fall w/text reading "Then It Begins To Rain - (Which Is Minnie Watering The Flowers)" and third panel shows them taking refuge under large flower. Second sheet has two panels, first showing wilted flowers, w/text reading "Flowers Are Drooped Or Wilted - Then Minnie Comes Along With The Sprinkling Can." Raindrops begins to fall from can in second panel and flowers come to life, dancing, w/note reading "(Perhaps To The Tune Of 'Singing In The Rain')" Last page has handwritten "Phil" signature in pencil at bottom right. Sheets have some scattered handling wear w/margin creases and some aging at bottom right corners. Sheets are Fine overall while art remains Exc. While Minnie isn't seen, she is mentioned twice. Early and interesting.
