Lot of five 9.5x12" sheets of animation paper w/rough pencil sketches for working ideas for the 1931 Mickey Mouse animated short "Fishin' Around." First sheet features nine blocked-out panels, w/rough images of Mickey and Pluto in boat. Pluto sleeps as Mickey fishes and a large bumble bee buzzes around and lands on Pluto's nose. He bites it and ends up falling into the water. The bee escapes and both swim for shore. Second sheet show image of Pluto's head as he angrily glares at fishing worm (w/worm designs as well as images of fish, one pulling on fishing line). Bottom features another, larger image of Pluto glaring at worm. Third sheet has three blocked-out panels showing Pluto and Mickey digging for worms, Mickey sitting on shore fishing as Pluto sniffs about and Mickey fishing on log supported over water by two turtles. Fourth sheet has three blocked-out panels, but only two feature pencil art; showing Mickey and Pluto in rowboat and sad-looking Pluto on shore as Mickey rows off. Last sheet also has three blocked-out panels, w/only two featuring pencil art; showing Mickey hooking and pulling his own pants off w/errant cast and fetching his shorts from the water. Sheets have varying degrees of handling wear/aging, some w/a few scattered creases. Fine-Exc. overall w/all art remaining clean and VF-Exc. Great insight into how these classic animated shorts evolved. Unique. Early and historic.
