6.5x8.5" c. 1929 original glossy photo showing full figure image of Lefty in a pitching pose and wearing his Seals uniform. Reverse has ink stamp info including "From San Francisco Bureau Bulletin Building/Pacific & Atlantic Photos Inc." The San Francisco Seals were a Minor League team in that played in the Pacific Coast League from 1903 until 1957 before transferring to Phoenix, Arizona. In 1930 Lefty made his MLB debut with the NY Yankees. He was a five-time World Series champion with the team, a seven-time All-Star and two-Time Triple Crown winner. He was inducted into the HOF in 1972. Lt. handling wear and trace of rippling on top margin. Bright and glossy w/strong and sharp image. VF. An historic, early image predating his Yankee greatness. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
