Item Description
17.5x22.5" print on high quality paper shows full body self portrait of Maurice Sendak standing before a full length mirror, his reflection depicted as Mickey Mouse, one of Sendak's favorite characters. This image was first used in "TV Guide" in 1978, accompanying an article Sendak wrote about his affinity for Mickey Mouse. Issued by The Rosenbach Museum & Library of Philadelphia, PA. on May 13, 1981, this print has been signed by Sendak in black ink at lower left and has "367/500" hand-numbered edition number at lower right. The print was issued on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition "Maurice Sendak: The Artist's Collection Of Children's Toys, Books, And Drawings" that was hosted at The Rosenbach. Print has some lt. handling wear to margins but if framed, would display Exc.
