Item Description
Pair of original printing posters for two different benefit concerts that featured The Grateful Dead. First measures 14x18.25" and was for the "Halo" benefit concert for the Haight Ashbury Legal Organization that featured Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Charlatans and The Grateful Dead. Poster text reads "Benefit For Haight Ashbury Legal Organization, An On-Scene Summer Long Guarantee Of Your Freedom." Concert took place May 30, 1967 at Winterland. Poster design by Rick Griffin features vintage photo of man wearing badge that has been altered to read "Indian Agent." Lightly aged, pinholes at corners. VF/Exc. Second measures 14x20.25" and was for "Super Ball" benefit concert for "KMPX First Birthday Benefit" that was held at Winterland April 3, 1968 and featured The Grateful Dead, Moby Grape, Electric Flag, Youngbloods, It's A Beautiful Day and Mother Earth. Poster was designed by San Andreas Fault and features photo by Tom Weir. Lower right has original $5 price covered by original price reduction sticker noting "$3.00" price. Lower left corner has creasing and top margins have some creases. VF.
