Item Description
Large 11-5/8x30.5" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1959 Pyro Plastics model kit No. 333198, the USS Olympia (C-6), a protected cruiser that saw service in the US Navy and became famous as the flagship of Commodore George Dewey at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War in 1898. Detailed art shows the ship at sea, the American flap flying aft. Several sailors can be seen on Olympia's decks as she cuts through the waves. Art is signed by Howard W. Arnold. Large image area takes up entire artboard. Top and lower left corners have some creasing resulting in breaks to paint surface. None of these affect main image area. Fine/VF overall, but would display Exc. if matted and framed. Impressive model kit art.
