Item Description
14-1/8x21.5" poster for original Belgian release of the 1954 sc-fi film produced by Republic Pictures and directed by Lee Sholem. The film stars Charles Drake, Karin Booth and Billy Chapin. Poster design is dominated by wonderful image of Tobor (Robot backwards) the Great holding unconscious woman w/space bkg. Tobor's design was the brainchild of Robert Kinoshita, TV and film effects man and prop designer who would later go on to design Robby the Robot for the 1956 film "Forbidden Planet," as well as the B9 environmental control robot from the 1960s hit sci-fi TV series "Lost In Space." Tax stamp at upper left. Penciled number at upper right by "Ambassador" theater marquee. Folded as issued. Poster has some lt. handling wear and minor corner crease but remains bright, clean and would display Exc. if framed.
