Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated end label contains 1/70 Scale Kit K-29 "Saturn 1B," an American launch vehicle commissioned by NASA for the Apollo program. It replaced the S-IV second stage of the Saturn I with the much more powerful S-IVB, able to launch a partially fueled Apollo Command/Service Module or a fully-fueled Lunar Module into low Earth orbit for early flight tests before the larger Saturn V needed for lunar flight was ready. Overall length of model is 37" and rocket engine requirements are listed on end label. Apollo capsule remains sealed in original bag and one bag has been opened, but all appears complete. Unused and Exc. Box has some corner tip/edge wear and is VF overall. Scarce vintage issue.
