5.75x8" first edition clothbound hardcover w/224 pages. Published by The Times-Mirror Press, ©1935 William S. Hart. Book is a collection of short stories w/Western themes. Frontispiece painting is also the illustration on the front of dust jacket by James Montgomery Flagg whose World War I "I Want You" Uncle Sam recruitment poster is internationally famous. Book features a photograph of Hart in Western wear on his Horseshoe Ranch and other illustrated plates. First blank inside page has lengthy black ink inscription from Hart to Rudy Vallee, a close friend on whose radio program Hart made appearances. Partial inscription reads "Dear Rudy, These Yarns Are Fiction. The Simple Little Story I Read To You Last Night Was One Incident In The Lives Of Two Men Who Have Known And Loved Each Other For 30 Years." Hart has signed twice, once signing his full name and again as "Bill Hart." DJ shows edge wear w/small tears and slight fade but is complete and unclipped but w/some inking to inside back cover. Book itself is VF. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
