Item Description
Lot of six souvenir salt and pepper shakers sold at the 1939 New York World's Fair. First is complete set of color combinations for plastic "One-Piece Salt And Pepper Shaker Set," 3.5" tall Trylon and scaled size Perisphere on 2x2.75" teardrop-shaped bases. Emeloid Co. Inc. "New York World's Fair" inscription on base front. Undersides have swing tabs for filling contents. Two Trylons have slight tip warping but are o/w glossy and Exc. Comes w/original illustrated cardboard box which shows moderate wear w/some moisture staining and is VG overall. Next is three-piece glazed ceramic w/separate figural Trylon "Pepper" shaker and Perisphere "Salt" shaker. These rest in handled tray w/gold luster "New York World's Fair" and copyright text. Scattered lt. wear to orange painted accents on tray and crazing to Perisphere. VF. Next is one-piece plastic and glass set w/painted wood push buttons that release salt or pepper from the bottom. Front has Trylon and Perisphere image and "New York World's Fair" text. Imperial Metal Mfg. Corp. Exc. Last is three-piece set w/5" tall metal anchor on base twice marked "New York World's Fair" w/Trylon and Perisphere images. Anchor holds two matching glass shakers designed like lanterns w/metal caps/bases and loops for hanging. Exc.
