Item Description
8" dia. by 11.25" tall tin litho store canister w/hinged metal lid (w/air holes as produced). Canister held "5¢ Packages" of "Sweet Mist Chewing Tobacco" by Scotten, Dillon Company of Detroit, MI. c. 1905. Canister is decorated w/repeated image of children playing in water fountain. Moderate but even aging, canister has some scattered wear w/.75" and 1" streak of bare metal showing under "Sweet" name, w/oxidation. Top has some scattered oxidation and lid has .75" split to metal by hinge. Fine overall, but still nice for display.
