Item Description
Adult size heavy cotton twill dress uniform jacket, slacks and belt by Smith-Gray of New York. Nicely tailored w/embroidered harp accent on jacket breast and American Eagle braided epaulets on shoulders. Jacket has six brass buttons on front, each featuring same raised Trylon and Perisphere buildings design. Slacks have stitched Smith-Gray tag w/LaBarre's name and measurements. Stitched leather belt is present. Jacket has scattered staining w/2" circle on front left by button standing out. VG/Fine overall, but still nice for display. Missing hat. Comes w/vintage 8x10-1/8" photo of LaBarre in this uniform and has been signed "With Kindest Regards To My Good Friend. Mrs. Lillian Taylor. Sincerely, Capt. Eugene LaBarre - 8/3/41" in blue ink. Corner creases w/tiny piece off lower right, but would display Fine if framed.
