Item Description
"World Series Souvenir Program - Pittsburgh Pirates 1971" measures 8.25x10.75" and has 72 pages. Typical baseball program content w/bios on players (including Roberto Clemente and Bill Mazeroski), ads, etc. Back cover has been signed in blue ink by Pirates legend Pie Traynor, who threw out the first pitch of Game 3 of the 1971 World Series at Three Rivers Stadium. The program was signed in-person at that game. Following World War II, Traynor was often cited as the greatest third baseman in MLB history. He died in 1972 at the age of 73. Program has moderate pinch creasing to spine and scattered color rubs. Back cover has some scattered dust soiling and corner creasing but Fine overall w/bold signature. 6x9" hardcover "Twin Killing: The Bill Mazeroski Story" features two "Autographed Copy" stickers on front of dust jacket and book has been boldly signed in black ink on first blank page inside front cover. Mazeroski was key member of the Pirates' World Series-winning teams in 1960 and 1971. NM. Nice pair signed by two MLB legends who played their entire careers w/the Pittsburgh Pirates. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA/LOA.
