Item Description
Large 29.75" dia. porcelain metal sign for display outside Erie. PA. banking institution, noting it as an "Erie Chapter Of Credit Unions" w/"Erie, PA." name at bottom center. Center of sign is dominated by cartoon image of man carrying bank bag while protected under large umbrella, putting forth the saving for a rainy day theme. 1930s. Edges have scattered chipping to porcelain enamel w/some oxidation at these areas. Sign also has 10 small chips to surface measuring between 1/8" and .25" w/five larger chips measuring .5" to 1". Larger 1x2" area missing porcelain enamel along bottom left edge. VG/Fine. Rare and first we've seen in our 48 years.
