Elaborate hand done lattice work art mat has 6.5x8” opening revealing pen & ink watercolor art. Art was taped to back of this mat at time of creation w/strips of adhesive tape. Hand inked caption has hooded and robed Klansman telling thugs at table “That Roosevelt Is A Bolshevik! He Wants Us To Win This War!” Man w/cigarette has pistol in back pocket, other two smoke cigars. Sign on wall is titled “Social Justice” w/swastika. Signed in ink at lower right “Arthur Szyk N.Y. 43.” Art is lightly tanned at extreme edges, art otherwise VF/Exc. Published in Aug. 29, 1944 “PM Magazine”.
