Item Description
Lot of six pieces of early concept art for the 1937 animated feature film on trimmed/clipped animation sheets measuring between 5.5x6.75" and 7x7.5". All date to c. 1936. Art is primarily lead pencil w/red colored pencil accents to Dwarf images. All have handwritten captions and/or dialog. First sheet features fully realized art of Doc raising his hand (which has a bird perched on it) and Dwarfs celebrate decision to let Snow White stay. Second sheet shows gavel banging. Third sheet shows four Dwarfs (Doc included) reacting angrily to mention of the Queen. Fourth sheet shows three Dwarfs vowing to protect/rescue Snow White w/choice "I'll Die For My Angel" and "Yeah! A Good Cook Is Worth Fightin' Fer!" dialog. Fifth sheet shows three Dwarfs laughing. Last sheet shows three Dwarfs cheering Snow White. All have numerous pin holes at top margins and even lt. aging, one w/.25" corner off. Image areas are o/w VF. All are well-drawn expressive examples. Exceptional lot.
