Story satirized "The Morton Downey, Jr. Show," a syndicated American talk show which aired 1987-1989. Pioneering "Trash TV," the show often featured Downey, Jr. leading his guests into angry shouting matches. First page has large cartoon mouth at top center w/image of cigarette-smoking Downey, Jr. at bottom, a crowd including gorilla, Klansman, African native, Hell's Angels bikers, old woman, man w/Afro and more seen in frenzied crowd bkg. Downey, Jr. tells them to zip it and bemoans liberal reforms. Second page has six panels and features Downey, Jr. berating pro-Downey fan, calling him a "Turdhead." Second panel introduces an actress, whom Downey, Jr. mistakes as a lesbian, referring to homosexuals as "Sicko Queers" in a very offensive manner. He further berates her before kicking her off the set in fifth panel, sixth panel is a close-up of him, announcing gun control as next topic. Third page features seven panels and introduces pro-gun control panelists, w/Downey, Jr. berating and choking one. Third panel features Native American w/panelist/crowd blatantly disrespecting him. Sixth panel introduced Pope John Paul II. This page features more and more cigarettes appearing in Downey's mouth, nose and hands in each panel. Last page is great large splash page showing the Pope punching Downey, Jr. square in the mouth, much to the shock of the crowd. Each page has multi-color felt tip pen note at bottom left w/title/page number/due date w/humorous "No Foolin'!, No Kiddin'!, No Jokin'!!" and "No Teasin'!" notes. Each page has also been signed in ink by Jack Davis. Margins have typical editorial notes, a few areas of printed text in word balloons have lt. aging, but pages will mat and frame to Exc./NM appearance. Superb graphics throughout.
