Item Description
15/16” long three dimensional solid white metal representation of a running pig. There is a small loop at the top. Beneath the tail is a small viewing hole and when held to light a b/w photographic image of Blaine is seen with his name below “JAS. G. Blaine.” To see all of the letters of the name the charm must be moved around a bit but they are all there and the portrait is easily seen. Item is listed as Hake-Blaine #3115 although this is actually an anti-Blaine campaign novelty. These pig charms date back at least as far as the 1872 election and were produced through the election of 1896 as well. The piece once had some gold luster but only highlights of this remain. No other damage. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
