Item Description
The badges are 3” to 5.5” tall. The ticket is 6” wide. The group begins with brass badge backed by ribbon with text “Souvenir/Republican National Convention, Minn. 1892.” Next from Republican 1904 convention is badge with cello insert “Asst. Sergeant At Arms.” Small loss of fringe at bottom of the ribbon. Next is ribbon with beautiful color celluloid at center. Top hanger designates “New York” while gold text designates “Republican National Convention Chicago 7, 1916.” NM. Next is “Alternate” badge from “Democratic National Convention 1920 San Francisco, Cal.” Ribbon has .5” tear at the center but this is largely hidden when the fabric is lying flat. Suspension has large image of Jefferson. Next on the original card, with a few creases, is a badge by Bastian for the “Republican National Convention/Ass’t. Sgt. At/Arms” from 1932 with Washington portrait on the suspension. The badge itself is NM. Next is a “Guest” paper ticket and stub from the 1920 Democratic National Convention accented by portrait of Wilson. Tiny paper sliver off left edge. Next is “Delegate/Democratic National Convention/1940/Chicago”. Small creases on bottom edge of the ribbon edge that would iron out. The badge itself is NM. Next is badge featuring panels reading “National Committee” and “Committee Man” from the 1948 “Democratic National Convention/Philadelphia.” Small green dots on the brass luster on the suspension showing William Penn, spire of Independence Hall, and Liberty Bell. Rest of the piece is Exc. Next from “Chicago 1952” is badge showing Lincoln issued for “Republican National Convention/Honorary Ass’t Sgt. At Arms.” NM. Last from 1952 is “Press” ribbon for “Democratic National Convention Chicago.” NM. A very nice group.
