Item Description
Pair of glazed ceramic items, 1950s. 6.5" tall glazed ceramic high relief figural wall plaque has same design as previous item #935. Chief Wahoo is again depicted standing beside baseball and was produced in recognition of the Cleveland Indians' 1954 season, in which they advanced to the World Series. Baseball has raised "'54'" date and "111" number, a reference to their 111 wins that season. Incised "Cleveland Baseball Club" text on front of base, underside is marked "G-C & Co. ©CBC." Other piece is 2.5" tall figural matchstick holder in shape of Chief Wahoo's head. Underside has incised "G-C & Co." text and "51" date. Missing easily replaced feather from top of head. Both are Exc.
