Item Description
Original cardboard box w/nicely illustrated lid contains 11.25" tall battery-operated robot made in Japan by Horikawa, 1960s. This is the first version of this classic robot w/tin litho body, arms, legs, feet and battery box cover. Robot features clear plastic chest w/moving plastic gun (which also lights up), clear plastic dome on top of head w/revolving gears within and moving antennas at shoulders. All functions work and robot walks forward. Interior of battery box has small area of lt. oxidation in one corner but this has stabilized. Plastic on chest has aged slightly and plated metal accents on head and face have some aging but toy is Fine overall. Box comes w/original cardboard insert. Lid shows wear w/creases at corners and one corner mostly split. VG. Addition to text in catalog: it was discovered that plain box bottom has child's drawing of robot on it.
