Item Description
All three thin art boards have four panels drawn in India ink w/main character in all panels. “Boots” has 6.25x24.5” image area c. early 1930s. She’s walking w/friend Jim when girlfriend Babs shows up in convertible roadster and invites him to party. Boots insists he go, but he worries about breaking training. Signed “Martin” in ink by creator Edgar Martin in panel four. Dust soil and aging w/a few lt. moisture marks in panel four. VG/Fine overall. Next are pair of “Ella Cinders” dailies. First has 6x22” image area for strip #612 May 14, 1927 hand titled in ink “Why He Was Silent”. Walking on beach, she argues w/brother Blackie about not thanking Sidney Smoothie for new hat. Next strip has 4.5x21-5/8” image area for July 19, 1937 hand titled in ink “Freedom ?” Ella gets out of jail but is greeted by crowd who thinks she’s guilty. Signed in ink by creators Bill Counselman and Charlie Plumb” in panel four. Both image areas are Exc. Complete w/syndicate copyright pasted strips. All three are nice examples.
