©1931 N.Y. Tribune. Thin art board has 11.25x15” India ink image area w/maid telling Mrs. Fribble about husband in hospital from auto accident. Mrs. Fribble replies “I’ll Phone Them Just As Soon As I’m Dummy. I’ll Bid Three Spades.” Signed in ink “Webster” at lower right. Margins are closely trimmed, most noticeable across top. Trace of lt. aging. Fine/VF overall. Well drawn funny example by the creator of “Caspar Milquetoast The Timid Soul.” From the Schechter Family Collection.
