Item Description
3x5.25” card has India ink drawing of Maud the mule standing full figure next to her owner Si. Card is signed in ink “Frederick Burr Opper Dec 21 1932”. Reverse side has ink note from “Three Leddle Boys” requesting sketch because “We Have Names And Sketches From All Over The World”. Exc. F.B. Opper (1857-1937) had great success w/the “Happy Hooligan” comic strip (begun in 1900) and created “Maud The Mule” in 1904. Nice example.
