Auction #214 - Part II
Item numbers 1008 through 2793 in auction 214
Item Description
Jigsawed and painted whirligig measuring 9.5x13.75" w/attached 11.75" dia. four blade wooden fan. Meant for outdoor display on post, wind causes fan blades to rotate. This is connected to metal shaft/control rod. This caused jointed Popeye figure to saw back and forth on log held on sawhorse. Separate figure of Olive stands in front of Popeye as if walking towards him. One of her shoulders and heels have chips to wood surface. Whirligig has scattered aging/wear as expected from outdoor use. Fine overall. Neat design.
