Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains "The Indian Action-Target Game With Western Safety Cork Rifle" by Thomas Manufacturing Corp. c. 1955. Box features frontier fort wall design and map of Indian Wars battles. Die-cut lid has been punched and box shows scattered wear w/creases and tears at corners. VG/Fine. Box has "Win A Free Trip To Disneyland" sticker on lid and box contains slip of paper detailing "Monsanto's Easy Jingle Contest" w/Disneyland trips as prizes. Slip is aged and shows scattered handling wear. Fine. Set consists of 26.75" long hard plastic rifle that shoots small corks (of which a sealed bag remains attached to die-cut cardboard box insert). Gun has raised "Thomas Toy" on side but no Davy Crockett marking and is in fact modern rifle design w/scope. Rifle no longer works but is o/w Exc. Comes w/die-cut illustrated cardboard bkg. designed like frontier fort (w/wooden board base) that holds metal rod w/five die-cut cardboard Indian targets designed to swing when hit by corks. Staples used to attach targets show heavy oxidation, but o/w target is VF.
