Original art for Whitman Tell-A-Tale hardcover book No. 1143, 1969. Lot consists of near complete set of acrylic art for book, missing one board of first two pages. Lot includes 14 artboards, each typically measuring 12x19.5" and one larger 19x28.5" cover artboard. Cover artboard has vertical crease at center and is VF. This and first artboard (title page) come w/acetate sheets w/painted titles. Acetates sheets show moderate scattered paint wear to "Daktari" name on both and are Fine overall. Of the other artboards, 22 different illustrations are featured, including Clarence the Cross-Eyed Lion roaring at small kitten, Judy the chimpanzee holding kitten and several images of Clarence w/kitten and human characters Dr. Tracy and his daughter Paula.
