Item Description
Pair of half-sheet posters, each c. 1936. First poster measures 19x27" and is for "Tom Mix Circus And Wild West." Printed by The Donaldson Litho Co. of Newport, KY., poster features classic clown image and text at bottom notes "Tom Mix And The Wonder Horse 'Tony' In Person." Poster is evenly aged and has pinholes at corner w/small pieces of tape. Bottom margin has some surface paper lifts/paper remnants from date tag sheet removal. Folded as issued, poster has some tape staining along fold lines from tape once on reverse. Fine overall. 21x27" poster for "Tom Mix Circus" was printed by U.S. Ptg. & Eng. Co. of Kansas City, MO. and features great image of turban-wearing man riding large elephant. Additional poster text touts "Equestrians Supreme - Thrilling Aerialists - Menagerie & Hippodrome." Bottom margin shows wear w/some tape staining and creasing. Poster was folded and has 2" strip of tape staining at left center margin. 1" vertical tear at top center and scattered small edge tears. Upper left has 2x2.5" corner replaced and upper right has 1x2.25" corner piece replaced. These blend somewhat. VG but still displays nicely. Fred Hoffman Collection.
