Item Description
Large 20.75x55.75" poster features four great scenes that include a camel race, "Equestrian Foot Ball," a Native American war party charge in front of a crowd in grandstands and "The Real Indian War Dance." Bottom has text blocks touting show as "A Lesson In The History Of Pioneer Days" and notes "Games Of The Real Red Men - Camel Races." c. 1912. Poster appears to have never been folded. Margins show wear w/scattered pinholes and .5" to 1" tears w/tape repairs on reverse. Upper corners have had 2" strips of border repaired w/square tape reinforcements at corners. Lower right has had 3x4.5" corner replaced and bottom center has had 2x2.5" triangular piece replaced. White area of bottom margin has been covered w/matching white paper. Lower margin has had 11.75" piece reattached at center/bottom right w/some minor color touch-up along tear line. Rest of poster has a few small scattered spots of color touch-up and bottom Native American scene has had tape repair on reverse to 1" tear on leftmost Native American. Rest of poster remains clean and margins issues could be easily matted out for a VF display as poster retains bright and bold colors. Fred Hoffman Collection.
