Item Description
Lot of three paper items issued to promote the debut of "The Shadow" radio program in 1932 in conjunction w/promoting a new auto headlight system. 11x17" four-page folder has great Shadow image w/"Columbia" radio microphone and "Announcing The Weird, Fascinating Shadow - Radio's Most Amazing Character Goes On The Air Over Columbia's Network For Perfect-O-Lite Sales People" text. This dates to the Jan./Feb. 1932 Perfect-O-Lite headlights promotion to recruit salesmen. Folder opens to promote radio sales program for "Perfect-O-Lite" and notes radio stations carrying the program. Folded as mailed, w/some scattered wear along fold lines. Folder is lightly aged and Fine overall. Rare. Folder comes w/6x7" double-sided promo folder w/mail-away postcard for "Overnight Free Test Of Perfect-O-Lite" headlights. Front has similar design as featured on folder w/Shadow image and radio station listing. Horizontal fold at center as issued w/1" split at right. Evenly aged. Fine. 3-5/8x6.5" envelope features repeat image of The Shadow at "Columbia" radio microphone and is unused w/o mailing address, the promo folder w/postcard was meant to be mailed in this envelope. Text includes "A Personal Invitation From America's Premier Radio Star The Shadow! See Inside!" Trivial traces of aging. VF. Both pieces are scarce.
