Item Description
Large 9.75" tall tin litho w/11.75" dia. opening. Produced by Geuder, Paeschke & Fry Co. of Milwaukee, WI. 1936. They produced two different waste baskets as well as the classic Mickey Mouse lunch kit. This one features Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow on mountain top, Pluto looking in fear from behind rock. Other side of waste basket is plain, lt. blue in color. The other waste basket this company produced featured these characters (as well as Donald Duck and Mickey's Nephew) on boat. See page 96 of Disneyana by Munsey for this company's items. Bottom of interior has moderate scattered oxidation, but this has stabilized and has no holes. Underside of bottom has some scattered lt. oxidation, but most goldtone luster remains. Top and bottom rims show moderate wear in the form of small nicks/flakes/aging and sides have slightest age fading w/a few scattered nicks/scratches, but exterior remains bright and glossy for the most part. VG overall. A true Disneyana rarity, only the third we've offered of this style in our 48 years Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
