Item Description
21x28" (21x35.75" w/attached date sheet). 1935. Poster features image of "The Marvelous Marcellus Troupe In Amazingly Beautiful Living Art Creations In Bronze." The Marcellus Troupe was a performance artist group that used trapeze feats to assemble human "art." Poster has Aug. 13, 1935 Madison date sheet attached at bottom. Upper right of this sheet has small inked date. Poster was once folded and is now rolled. Poster shows obvious handling wear w/aged tape repair on reverse to 6.5" tear at lower right and 2.75" tear to upper right of date sheet which has been reinforced by archival tape repair. Date sheet also has 2-3/8" tear at left and 1.75x3" L-shaped tear at center (across "Madison" name). Vertical 5" tear at bottom center w/archival tape repair on reverse. Small ink stamped name on reverse (which does not show through). VG. Rare and the only example of this poster we've offered in our 48 years.
