Item Description
10x12" sheet of animation paper has image area measuring 6x7.25" w/final image done in lead pencil w/much red colored pencil preliminary work visible underneath. Art is attributed to Manuel Gonzalez, who (w/the exception of during World War II) drew the "Mickey Mouse" Sunday comic strip 1938-1981 and inked the "Scamp" comic strip. Art is from classic 1939 Mickey Mouse animated short "Society Dog Show," which was animated by Al Eugster, Shamus Culhane, Fred Moore, John Lounsbery, Norm Ferguson and Leo Salkin. Art shows an angry Mickey Mouse struggling w/Pluto, who has a bow around his neck and a torn piece of the dog show judge's pants in his mouth. Sheet is lightly aged but art remains clean and Exc. Great detailed and expressive image.
