Item Description
Largest is 23x31.5"/smallest 22.5x17.5". First features graphics of two fists raised each with broken shackles on each wrist. Additional graphic at bottom features a sea of police all wearing riot helmets and the officers at the front of the group have helmets that read; "Police", "BIA", "INS" and "FBI". Poster reads at top "Repression Breeds Resistance" and advertises a "National Moratorium: Sept. 7-8-9. 1979". Fold at center as issued and two stickers added with additional information about location and contacts. Exc. Second is a center spread from the "March 20, 1997 Revolutionary Worker" publication. Top reads "New York: Killed By Police In Cold Blood" and features images of 16 people killed by police. Additional text at center has a list of those killed in NYC by police giving their name, age, nationality, date killed and the location. Vertical fold at center as issued. NM. Third item features Amiri Baraka and his family c. 1979 after Baraka was arrested for resisting arrest during an argument with his wife over the cost of their children's shoes. Baraka is a well known poet and revolutionary. This poster was produced for a rally at the trial and to build a defense committee.
