Item Description
Each is 1-1/8” in copper or brass. The first two are 1834 and both are anti-Jackson with an image of him. The first obverse shows running hog with slogans “My Victory/My Third Heat/Down With The Bank.” Jackson side reads “My Substitute For The U.S. Bank/My Experiment/My Currency/My Glory.” Slight smoothing of the details. Fine. DeWitt CE 1834-9. The second shows Jackson in a safe holding sword and money bag with “I Take The Responsibility” around. Reverse shows donkey with slogan “The Constitution As I Understand It.” Some luster. Fine. DeWitt CE 1834-16. The next two are 1838. First with tortoise bearing a safe has “Executive Experiment” around. Reverse donkey with text “I Follow In The Steps Of My Illustrious Predecessor.” Very Fine. Luster traces. DeWitt CE 1838-1. Last is DeWitt CE 1838-9. Female head with 1837 date on reverse and obverse reads “Millions For Defence/Not One Cent For Tribute.” VG. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
