Item Description
This piece is 3-3/8” tall and unlisted in Hake. At top is brass hanger with reverse pin and with text “1904/St. Louis.” Ribbon below has some light tan toning but the gold lettering remains fully readable as “Inauguration/Roosevelt/And/Fairbanks/March 4th 1905/Washington, D.C.” This suspends a medallion in white metal but with brass luster. Front edges are inscribed “Historic Souvenir.” Below is an eagle with tiny portraits of Napoleon and Jefferson to the left and right. Above is a scene of full figure Uncle Sam placing a bag of money into the hand of a female figure representing France. Reverse of this piece has large lettering “Louisiana Purchase Exposition St. Louis 1904.” A little luster off the rim of the medallion but overall condition is Fine. Rare.
