Item Description
This Hake unlisted 1.25” button is without back paper as issued and there is no maker’s name. Beneath the word “Progressive” are fine lines representing the burst of a sun rising just above the moose’s head. The artist drawn moose holds a ribbon in his mouth suspending a Liberty Bell. Circular portraits of Roosevelt & Johnson, real photos without dot patterns, flank the moose. The design is centered 1/16” to the left. The button has almost no surface wear and is NM displaying Mint. We know of one auction sale in excess of $4,400 and Hake’s Auction #208 example, which had three craze lines, exceeded $3,000. Rare.
