Auction #215 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 987 in auction 215
Item Description
1” with union bug back stamp and union bug on the curl. Button has pinpoint black dot by his cheek as made but exceedingly tiny. Just above his hair are a pair of 1/32” scratches for the most part invisible without magnification. Chance was a major figure in the Chicago Cubs line up between 1898 through 1912. Chance, also as player and manager, helped lead the Cubs to four World Series competitions. In 1913 Chance took over as manager of the New York Yankees. This is the reason for the tribute to him being located in an American League ballpark. A rare button with high gloss and displaying Mint as made.
