For Finlay biography, see previous item #1588. Offered here is 9x12" softcover "Virgil Finlay...A Portfolio Of Illustrations." Published by Nova Press, ©1953 Virgil Finlay. Single-sided pages showcase Finlay's intricate art w/several fantastic, supernatural and mythic illustrations. Attention to detail is astounding. Finlay has signed front cover in blue ink, adding "Best Wishes" inscription. Cover has lt. scattered aging, more moderate along spine, w/some dust soiling. VF overall w/clean, NM pages. Comes w/three pulp magazines featuring cover art by Finlay; single issue of "Fantastic Novels" (Jan. 1941) and two issues of "Famous Fantastic Mysteries" (Oct. and Dec. 1942). Scattered aging and wear. Covers are VF overall w/Fine contents. Pulps just comes along.
