Complete set of seven 12.75x19" thin artboards w/pen and ink original art for "The Spirit In The Bag" storyline that was published by Magazine Entertainment in Dec., 1955. Pencil and inks were provided by Fred Meagher and artboards represent complete seven-page story that deals w/cowardly Comanche youth Crazy Bear, who seeks to be as brave as Straight Arrow. Art features Crazy Bear being ambushed by Crow warriors only to be rescued by Straight Arrow who tells him the secret of his courage - his medicine bag. Straight Arrow gives Crazy Bear his medicine bag, hoping to instill some courage in the youth. It does, and Crazy Bear gains courage, enough that he seeks Soft Moccasin's hand, only for her father to request Crazy Bear's medicine bag. He debates giving it up, which would cause him to lose his courage. In defending the Comanche camp, he loses his medicine bag and w/it, his courage. Soft Moccasin gets kidnapped by an Apache, causing Crazy Bear to find his courage on his own. First page has title/story title paste-overs, which have aged. Bottom right corner has slight clip, not affecting art. Fourth page has text replaced w/paste-over, tape on reverse. Last panel of last page features paste-over to Straight Arrow's dialog balloon. Scattered white correctional fluid touch-ups. Each page has Comics Magazine Code Authority dated stamp on reverse. Fine-VF overall. Great action-packed story.
