Item Description
3.5x5.5" w/image of manager Duffy at center surrounded by 15 players. Has photographer's mark of "H.C. Weasner Buffalo, NY." Unused reverse. A HOF inductee in 1945, Duffy spent decades in the Major Leagues as a player and then manager. His best season was 1894 w/the Boston Beaneaters when he was the Triple Crown winner. He spent three years as manager of the Providence Grays, 1907-1909. 10 players shown on this card ended up playing the the Major Leagues: Harry Lord, Bill Abstein, Ed Barry, Chet Chadbourne, Forrest Crawford, Jack Cronin, Jerry Donovan, Joe Harris, Amby McConnell & Bob Peterson. Scattered handling wear/aging. Fine. Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
