Item Description
Original 5x7" glossy photo on slightly larger original cardboard mount. Team is pictured in uniform posed on ball filed with stadium seats and some spectators behind them. This Mexican League team was founded in 1940. Shown on this team along with Brown is Julio Rojo who also had a lengthy career in the Cuban and Negro Leagues. He was inducted into the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1984. Brown was a star of the Negro Leagues for the Kansas City Monarchs helping them win six pennants in 10 seasons as well as playing briefly in the Major Leagues for the St. Louis Browns in 1947. He was inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 2006. Mount has edge wear w/trim to bottom edge and missing piece at top right. Photo has trace of aging but image remains sharp and distinct. Fine.
