8-3/8x10.25" copyright 1941 KFS. Original pen and ink single panel from 8/17/41 Sunday page shows Prince Valiant, back to viewer, showing red watercolor brush marks indicating lashings. Valiant faces woman with text "Through You Poor, Stupid, Sulkin Little Fool, I Have Regained My Sword, My Liberty And My Fortune. So I Send You Back. And Why Have I Used You Thus? Let The Scars On My Back, From The Whipping You Ordered Be Your Answer!" Panel is numbered 236 at bottom left-hand corner with date. Inscribed in black ink (which has faded slightly) "To Phillip Littman With Best Wishes Hal Foster." Lightest traces of aging. Exc. Comes with Hake's COA.
